How does the interactive workstation work?

For the knee, shoulder, hip, and ankle programs

The interactive workstation contains three display windows, each dedicated to a specific imaging plane (i.e. sagittal, coronal, or axial). In the lower portion of the display windows are sequence selection buttons for viewing T1 or PD and T2 or FS PD sequences. Workstation interactive functions include scroll, pan, zoom, brightness, and contrast.

For the lumbar spine program

The viewer is a standardized DICOM viewer, in which the user can set the layout of the windows. Sequences to be viewed are dragged and dropped into the window. Interactive functions include scroll (requires a mouse or track pad on a computer), pan, zoom, brightness, and contrast.

Can I see a demonstration of the workstation simulator?

A demo is available for the knee, shoulder, hip, and ankle programs. Because the lumbar spine program uses a standard but simplified DICOM viewer similar to those you use every day, a demo is not available.

Do the programs work on mobile devices like tablets?

Currently only the lumbar spine program works on mobile devices like tablets and smartphones. All future programs will work on mobile devices.

Why are DVD's available for only certain programs?

From 2015 onward, all programs will consist of DICOM data and a DICOM viewer, rather than jpegs simulating DICOM data. Because the programs include 35-50 MR scans, these data sets are too large for a computer DVD program. In addition, our priority is creating programs which work on tablets, as well as computers. When the DVD's for the current programs have been sold, we will not be issuing more DVDs.

What portions of the programs are printable?

A complete radiology report for each case can be printed. The CME test can be printed although the test must be taken online. For the knee, shoulder, hip, and ankle programs, the report can be printed by clicking on "Radiology Rpt" and "PRINT" in the Diagnosis Section of each case. In the DVD program, the CME Test and a Test Answer form are printable. “ Prt Answer Form” button, or “Prt CME Test” button. The printer box will launch, select your printer, and print. Earlier operating systems may force program out of full screen mode when Doing PRINTOUTS. Click MAXIMIZE to resume full screen display. After November 24, 2010, the CME test must be taken online and submitted electronically. We cannot accept the printed Answer Form after November 24, 2010. In the web program, the CME test can be printed by clicking on on "Printable Test" in the My Programs section or "Download printable test" in the Online CME test section.   For the lumbar spine program, the report can be printed by clicking on Radiology Report (PDF) in the menu of options for each case. How do I take the CME test?
